Forbes Richest in Hip Hop: Top 3 Really Rich
Forbes richest rappers Forbes has released its Cash Kings of Hip-Hop list for the 2nd year and the top 3 remain in the top 3,

but there has been a shift at the top thanks to one savvy business move for Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson. In addition to being on the brink of irrelevant and hitless not being an impediment from making the list, the top spot in fact, the list also reveals that being dead doesn’t preclude one from stacking their paper and staking out some real estate on Forbes coveted list.

Although Jay-Z had a killer year and is by most standards the King of Hip-Hop, he is not this year’s Cash King. Jay topped the inaugural list followed by 50 Cent, but 50’s Vitamin water deal allowed him to make the switcheroo. Mr. Jackson pocked $150

million, helped slightly by his platinum selling album and clothing line, but is chiefly a result of his much talked about Vitamin Water deal which netted him $100 million. His figure is so phenomenal it’s almost twice what Hova pocketed, but with a cool $82 million and a new wife, Jigga is no punk.

Don’t worry about Diddy in this equation, he’s 3rd on the list as he was last year and he’s
still really rich with many more projects in the works. After Diddy comes Chicago’s own;
Kanye stacked about 30 million in chips with a good chunk of that credited to his
writing for other artists. The line up continues with Timbaland, Pharrell, Swizz Beats and
Snoop.

The number 9 notable has had the hip-hop world waiting on a new album for countless
summers but that hasn’t stopped Dr. Dre from accumulating wealth. He’s still making
bread off of hits that are decades old.

The South is in the house with Luda planting his GA flag at the number 10 spot followed
by fellow Georgian T.I. who ties Lil Wayne for the 11th spot. Both rappers from the
bottom of the map raked in about $13 million.

Other than 50’s mega deal and Dr. Dre having the last laugh versus Suge
Knight, one of hip-hops big money earners is none other than Tupac Shakur whose
estate, although being gone from this earth for over 10 years, banked about 15 million.
